Mojave Paint 0.1 is out the door. What started as an exercise in learning AI coding tools has turned into:
- 242 commits
- 20,270 lines of Swift code
- 2,017 lines of Metal/headers
My goal for 0.1 is that is has some use, however minimal. I'm personally using it for cropping photos, preferring it over the Preview app in macOS for the simple reason that you can drag a rectangle with space bar as you're sizing it. It's these little usability details that add up to make a lovable app.
I'm particularly excited when I get a chance to "eat my own dogfood" which, in software, means making the thing you're building a dependency of building it. The boulder cartoon image that serves as the app's icon was cropped in Mojave Paint, and the little pixel icons by the color picker swatches were also made in Mojave Paint. Once I get the basic pencil tool in, more dogfooded icons are coming.
